It's not all veges and tofu. The Gold Coast has an amazing selection of vegetarian and vegan restaurants with savoury and sweet food that will blow you away. Even your meat loving man and little sweet eating kiddies will love their vego food.
We recommend you try these delicious 8 Gold Coast vego restaurants / cafes. Fresh delicious food that unless you were told you otherwise would not realise that their meals did not contain meat, dairy, gluten etc.
1. The Cardamom Pod (vegetarian restaurant - vegan and gluten free options)...
Shop 11/110 Surf Parade, Broadbeach
The Cardamom Pod is originally from Byron Bay (they still have one in Byron so look out for it next time you visit). It is a gourmet
vegetarian restaurant using organic produce as much as possible with
gluten free options. Vegan platters, fresh fancy salads, hot dishes, tea
bar, mocktails, fresh fruit lassies, and house-made desserts.
The decor is SUPER funky. Walls of plants, designer chairs, very trendy. Perfect for a catch up lunch or afternoon tea.
You'll find The Cardamom Pod diagonally opposite the park in Broadbeach on Surf Parade.
2. From Earth & Water (vego cafe with 100% raw, vegan and gluten free options)...

From Earth & Water is a hidden gem in Burleigh Heads - just behind Globe coffee up the lane. The decor is rustic and casual.
They have 100% raw,
vegan and organic cuisine! Everything at From Earth and
Water is made by hand. The menu is free of dairy, refined sugar,
gluten, soy, wheat, processed ingredients and animal products with the
exception of raw organic honey.
3. Mandala Organic Arts Cafe (vegetarian restaurant - vegan and gluten free options)...

Mandala Organic Arts Cafe offers nourishing meals, live music, art
gallery, community events and workshops. The food is prepared with
fresh produce from its own garden (awesome!) and local organic farmers.

4. Easy House (Vegetarian yum cha restaurant - vegan / vegetarian Chinese food)...
Corner Markeri St and Sunshine Blvd, Mermaid Beach
Easy House Vegetarian restaurant is a great little place with good
prices and service. A fantastic, quick and delicious lunch time Yum
is not your typical yum cha restaurant. Although the menu sounds
familiar to diners, it’s both a vegetarian and vegan restaurant (no
dairy, no eggs) and most of the dumplings are gluten free.
5. Govindas (Vegetarian restaurant / cafe)...

Govindas is perfect if you’re on the run and want to grab a take out dinner... or want to sit, chill in the cosy cafe. Choose from a huge variety of hot dishes eg.
vege lasagne, dahl, curry, pakoras to amazing fresh bean and kofta
salads to mouth watering desserts.
Govindas restaurant is managed by volunteers who live on the Hare
Krishna Community at Eungella. The proceeds from the restaurant help maintain the
infrastructure for the agriculture on the farm and finance the

The Magic Apple wholefoods restaurant has an extensive menu from
breakfast to dinner including scrambled tofu, fresh juice, coffee,
bruschetta, miso paste toast, macadamia nut butter on toast, vegan
nachos, dahl, chickpea curry, ratatouille, salads, burgers, cakes,
slices and cookies. Free Wi-Fi Available.
7. Tian Ran (vegetarian and vegan Chinese/Asian restaurant)...
Shop 8, 2464 Gold Coast Hwy, Mermaid Beach
All dishes are prepared fresh daily with only high quality,
ecologically and socially responsible ingredients. Imagination and a
variety of flavours and dishes makes this restaurant a place not to be
missed for dinner.
8. Wray Organic Palm Beach (Shop and cafe with vegan, gluten free options)...
19th Ave Shopping Village, Palm Beach
In 2005, fed up with health stores selling overpriced organic produce
wilting on the shelves, health guru Deborah Wray opened her flagship,
one-stop, ACO-certified organic grocery shop in Palm Beach. Loyal patrons (including pro surfers like Kelly
Slater) drop by for chats about current health concerns, charmed by
small store service and hearty organic meals, juices and coffees in the
cafe. Vegan, gluten and dairy intolerant customers are well-catered for
Woodbox Cafe at Burleigh (vegetarian cafe with organic and gluten free options)
33 Tallebudgera Creek Rd, West Burleigh
Sourcing as much organic produce as possible from local suppliers, Woodbox
café specialises in organic and vegan options, free of preservatives,
sugar, wheat, dairy and gluten. A glass-fronted cabinet on entry shows off the wonderful food:
olive tart, macadamia and quinoa tart with salad, curry slices, organic
sausage rolls, wraps, lentil and salad burgers, raw cakes and more.
